Deep within the Great Outdoors, freshwater fish let out an alluring call.

Fishing is so much more than the scream of a reel yielding to a smallmouth bass or the "bleep bleep bleep" when your buddy snags a log for the seventh time.

It's the brisk wind in your face at 5 a.m., your determination to solve each fishing hole, and the community built all around you.

You can not hone your fishing skills through YouTube, Instagram, or my fishing blog.

You have to get out and fish!
